Flexsource is currently recruiting for a Quality Control Officer on behalf of a leading label and packaging manufacturer based in Dublin. This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced production environment, ideal for someone with strong attention to detail and a passion for quality standards.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring all printed labels and packaging meet strict client and regulatory requirements, while also supporting continuous improvement across production processes.

The Role

As a QC Officer, you will be responsible for inspecting, verifying, and approving printed materials throughout the production process. You will spend the majority of your time on the production floor, working closely with operations teams to maintain high quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Inspection & Verification

  • Inspect printed labels and packaging for colour accuracy, print quality, registration, legibility, artwork, and barcodes.
  • Ensure all products meet client specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Identify, record, and report defects or non-conforming products.
  • Participate in new product introductions, press checks, and product approvals.

Quality Assurance

  • Approve or reject production batches based on quality standards.
  • Support corrective and preventive actions to reduce defects and rework.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure consistent quality output.

Process Improvement

  • Recommend improvements to reduce waste, errors, and inefficiencies.
  • Stay up to date with industry standards, printing methods, and quality tools.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate QC records, inspection reports, and defect logs.
  • Manage NCR (Non-Conformance Report) processes for internal, supplier, and customer issues.
  • Complete customer specifications, checklists, and documentation.
  • Communicate findings clearly to management.

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with industry and regulatory labelling standards.
  • Follow all company health and safety procedures at all times.

Working Conditions

  • On-site role within a production and manufacturing environment.
  • Majority of time spent on the production floor (75–80% hands-on inspection work).
  • Some desk-based work (20–25%) including reporting and documentation.
  • Requires standing for long periods and performing detailed visual inspections using measurement tools.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in Quality Control, ideally within print, packaging, manufacturing, or FMCG.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to make independent quality decisions.
  • Good communication and reporting skills.
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on production environment.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.
