We are currently recruiting for a HGV Tech/ Workshop Controller for our client based in Baldonnell. Ideally, you will possess a mechanic/technician qualification and have experience managing a team of commercial vehicle technicians

Responsibilities:

  • Managing a team of Commercial Vehicle Master Technicians, Technicians and Apprentices 
  • Managing the flow of vehicles through the workshop reviewing and allocating jobs, discussing job requirements with team ensuring work is completed in a timely manner to manufacturer standards
  • Liaising with the Service Team to manage the daily planning of vehicles through the workshop including reviewing and estimation of jobs for the customer
  • Providing ongoing review and support of Diagnostics in line with manufacturer standards
  • Responsible for Quality Control of the output from the workshop 
  • Liaising with service desk team, warranty team and customers where required on more complex technical jobs
  • Managing the maintenance of high workshop utilisation, productivity and achievement of KPI’s
  • Ensuring high health and safety standards are maintained through all aspects of the workshop
  • Keeping up to date with all manufacturer's standards and training and being fully prepared for manufacturer and industry performance and compliance audits.

Skills required:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role in a Dealership / Manufacturer / Importer Commercial Vehicle Environment 
  • Qualified HGV Tech with at least 5 years’ experience working in a busy workshop
  • Working knowledge of the full process of throughput of Commercial Vehicles for service and repair through a workshop
  • Demonstrable experience of managing and supporting a team of technicians and apprentices as they progress through their career 
  • Strong organisation and multitasking skills
  • Good knowledge of Kerridge/Keyloop
  • Fluent written and spoken English, and full authorisation to live and work in Ireland
