We are currently recruiting for a sample technician based in busy medical device plant in Shannon, Clare.
A Sample Technician will be responsible for handling, testing, and documenting samples of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products.
Sample Technician will be responsible for coordinating sample builds across internal and external sites, supporting testing activities, collecting and organizing process data, and helping maintain accurate process and validation documentation. The role will also contribute to small-scale continuous‑improvement activities within the production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collecting, organizing, and preparing samples of medical device components for analysis.
- Performing QC inspections, including in-process tests on raw materials and finished products, to detect flaws or non-conformances.
- Recording test results, maintaining accurate documentation (GMP/GDP), and submitting samples in line with site guidelines.
- Preparing and calibrating laboratory equipment (e.g., autoclaves, bioreactors) to ensure they meet performance standards.
- Supporting engineers in identifying Accept/Reject samples during manufacturing to improve yield and quality.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a regulated environment (medical device, pharmaceutical, or GMP setting) is frequently required (minimum 1 year)
- Familiarity with laboratory operations, QC testing, and quality systems.
- High attention to detail, ability to follow strict procedures, and proficiency in documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple small tasks, follow established procedures, and contribute to problem‑solving activities.
- Willingness to learn, take initiative, and support continuous‑improvement activities in a fast‑paced environment
Weekly hours: Mon – Fri 9-5
