About the Company

Our client is a leading third-party medical device contract manufacturer with a strong track record of delivering world-class manufacturing solutions to global healthcare companies. As they prepare to open a state-of-the-art production facility in West Dublin, they are recruiting multiple Automation Technicians to join their growing team.

Role Overview

The Automation Technician will play a key role in supporting the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and continuous improvement of automated manufacturing equipment in a regulated medical device environment. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will ensure equipment reliability, compliance, and operational efficiency as the new site ramps up production.

Key Responsibilities

• Support installation and commissioning of automated production lines and equipment in the new facility.

• Perform planned, predictive, and reactive maintenance on a range of automation systems (robotics, PLC-controlled machinery, vision systems, conveyors, etc.).

• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues to minimize downtime and maintain compliance with GMP and ISO 13485 standards.

• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to implement equipment modifications and improvements.

• Ensure all work is documented in line with regulatory and company standards.

• Support validation, calibration, and qualification of equipment and systems.

• Contribute to continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.

• Provide technical support and training to production operators as required.

Candidate Profile

• Qualified in Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

• 2+ years’ experience in an automation or maintenance role, ideally within medical devices, pharma, or a regulated manufacturing environment.

• Strong technical knowledge of PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley or similar), robotics, servo systems, and vision systems.

• Proven problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

• Familiarity with GMP, ISO 13485, or other regulated manufacturing environments.

• Ability to work shifts and respond flexibly to production needs.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
