Cpl are once again working with our client partner to help them source a Production Manager for their recently completed Ethanol production facility in Laois.

As the plant moves into full scale production, the team is now growing, and the next key hire is for an experienced production manager come on board.

You will be managing and leading a team of 10 highly skilled and experienced Chemical Production Technicians in a bulk batch / GMP process manufacturing environment.

The plant itself has been purpose built to support their client portfolio who are primarily in the

Bio- Pharma, General Pharma and API manufacturing industries.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished and progressive Production Professional who is looking to join a new and exciting project here in Laois.

Your key skills here will be at least 6 years of leadership experience in Batch Processing or Bulk Batch Manufacturing, excellent communication skills are critical here and a proven ability to develop talent and to get the maximum from your team by leading from the front and displaying subject matter expertise and best in class leadership.

My client is a leading recognised global brand in the chemical industry. As the world leader in its industry, the company have a global workforce more than 5,000 staff.

Due to continued growth in one of their Irish facilities, there is an immediate job requirement for a Production Manager at their Chemical manufacturing plant.

This job is working on day shift and your team of 10 are currently working days only Monday to Friday but as production capacity increase in 2024 there is an option of the team moving to a 2-cycle shift pattern.

The job requires the Production Manager to lead, control and develop all aspects of production, filling, warehousing, engineering support, health, safety, and environmental and other activities at the site.

Production & Manufacturing Manager Job Description:

The Production Manager must be able to contribute to the development and implementation of the site strategy in line with the Company, Operations and Business unit objectives as the key role within the site leadership team.

The production Manager should be able to develop and deliver continuous improvement plans that support the drive for improved quality & operating costs ensuring successful implementation of the plans.

Be able to maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of business objectives that drive essential behavioural and process change. Strong links to be developed with Planning, Warehousing, NPD, and Quality.

The Production Manager should always be constantly looking for improvements in current operations to improve quality, service, and cost.

Keep daily site records.

Work in conjunction with the Site Leadership team with full working knowledge of schedule requirements, provide feedback on actual versus planned progress and provide solutions to correct losses.

The job requires the Production Manager to lead, motivate and develop their team in line with company values to maximise employee engagement.

It is vital that the Production Manager can identify and manage on-going cost reduction and material productivity.

Always be participation in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating construction projects according to schedule, budget and specifications Plan and prepare look ahead construction schedules

The successful Production Manager will possess:

The successful candidates will be at least Degree qualified and a degree in Chemical Engineering or another Chemistry related discipline is a particular advantage for this job opportunity.

The successful candidate must possess 6 years’ experience in a leadership role in a highly regulated process manufacturing environment.

Industries that will be considered are Brewing, Distilling, Petro Chemicals, Chemical Engineering or GMP controlled pharmaceutical manufacturing – but please note that experience in Bulk / Batch Process Manufacturing is essential.

You will have demonstrated the ability to lead teams of process operations and manufacturing personal, engineering and craft as well as site service providers including security and 3rd party engineering contractors.

Certification or work experience in Lean / Six Sigma is vital for this job.

Project management experience (Would be an advantage).

Excellent communicate and Interpersonal skills are essential for this job.

Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

Strong PC skills, Microsoft Office (Word, excel and MS Project), SAP (MM and PM)

Team player and a good problem solver.

Good Organisational abilities.
